2025 Summer Teams Evaluation and Tryout Information Below:

The Who:

Any player from the city of Lexington and Fayette or surrounding counties with a January 1, 2025 birthday of 19U, 17U or 15U.  For an age eligibility chart see the current 2024 one  baseball_age_chart.pdf (legion.org) 

The What:

The Where:

Lexington Legends Field at 207 Legends Lane.  No metal spikes, gum or seeds.  Full baseball attire and proper equipment is the expectation for this evaluation and tryout.

The When:

Sunday, September 22 from 1pm to 3pm.  Any weather delays will be posted on our social media and on this website.

The Why:

After another successful summer season, we are always looking for the best players from the next class and generations for our Senior and Junior division teams.

The Post 8 Program

The Post 8 Program

 American Legion Baseball enjoys a reputation as one of the most successful youth baseball organizations in the country. Today, the program registers teams in all 50 states plus Canada. Each year young people, ages 13 to 19, participate. Since its inception in 1925, the program has had millions of players, including countless who have gone on to play in college and professional baseball.

With a national alumni base that includes more than half of the current Major League Baseball players, American Legion Baseball is one of the most prominent and tradition-rich amateur baseball programs in existence.

Our Season

In Central Kentucky, our game season begins in early June after the high school season concludes. We do have practices, workouts and events throughout the year.  The competitive season concludes in late July with postseason play finishing in August.

We play against other Legion post teams and on occasion will travel to participate in invitational tournaments during select weekends.
